Omschrijving:
For our client in Amsterdam we are looking for a Mainframe DevOps Engineer.

An energetic DevOps Engineer with a passion for IT with a focus on development. In this position you work within a squad. You enjoy working together in a multidisciplinary team and at the same time you also find it important that you can use your own expertise.
Customer perspective is your primary drive to work in a squad. You work according to the Scrum methodology and Continuous Delivery Engineering Practices on bringing to production, taking in management, managing and ultimately decommissioning mainframe applications. As a DevOps Engineer you contribute to the realization of the purpose of the squad. You do that by working end-to-end Agile on the user stories from the Backlog.

Tasks:
As a DevOps Engineer you control both the conceptual phase and the actual development and testing of applications. You understand the entire mainframe stack, so you can bring applications to production and resolve incidents. You can contribute to the realization of all activities in the backlog.

Important components:
– In the Tribe you are part of an ambitious and driven squad with an Agile approach. You work together with colleagues from other areas of expertise and you take the initiative with regard to broadening knowledge (inside and outside your expertise) that is relevant within the Tribe in which you work.
– You take on tasks/activities that contribute to the mission wherever possible, even when it is not entirely within your area of expertise.
– You have a current vision on IT expertise.
– You are able to get all (typical) items from the backlog from “to do” to “done”.
– You maintain, test and deploy the wholesale Payment business application components.
– You ensure an efficient and effective handling incident -, configuration -, change management within your team.
– You contribute to the development of your squad by actively giving and receiving feedback.
– You are familiar with IT risk processes and experienced in the implementation and monitoring of this.

Work environment:
This is an environment where the main business payment processes are supported with mainframe applications. Together with your squad you will be responsible for migrating existing COBOL and PL/I applications used by the Payments domain to a Mainframe emulation environment.
This environment will be operational for some time and together with your colleagues you will help simplify this IT landscape.

Profile:
You are the DevOps engineer who thinks it is challenging to manage and develop important business Payment applications.
We are looking for team players that have a passion for technology, are proud of their craft, are solution-focused and have a broad set of software developing skills (able to design, develop, test, deliver and maintain high-quality software solutions for our customers).

Knowledge about/experience with business payment processes is an absolute plus.

– You have experience with and knowledge of (banking) mainframe applications.
– In-depth knowledge of (mainframe DB2) databases and SQL, COBOL, PL1, JCL, CICS, IMS, MQ, Z/OS.
– Willing to be part of the standby/incident schedule outside of business hours.
– You are familiar with the automation of Testing and Deployment with UFT.
– You have experience working in an Agile organization.
– You have a good command of the Dutch and English language, spoken and written.

Knowledge of tooling such as Artifactory, TFS, GIT and Microfocus Server Enterprise is a major advantage.

In addition, you recognize yourself in the following profile:
– HBO/WO working and thinking level, with an IT background.
– Certification and / or proven proficiency in one or more high level programming languages.
– Proactive, team player, optimist, flexible.
